Allscripts UAI DesktopAgent is a lightweight background component used alongside Allscripts clinical applications. Running on the local workstation, it brokers secure communication between desktop workflows and Allscripts services, helping manage sign-on, session and context, and the launch of integrated modules from the EHR. The agent also handles protocol/deep-link associations and enables applications to access local resources when required.
